CLIENT CONSULTATION
A consultation will be required before carrying out any Scalp micropigmentation treatments. This will usually be in person which will allow for the artist to explain the procedure, answer any questions that you may have & evaluate your scalp to get an idea of what will be required. At M.Riley Scalp Works, the lead technician has had the treatment himself so this will also allow for you to see in person, what a completed scalp micropigmentation procedure will look like & how natural it really is.
During the consultation, there will also be a chance for the artist to draw a hairline if requested so you can get an idea of what style would suit you.
If you cannot attend a face to face consultation, then it can also be arranged to set up a phone, video call or even email to discuss the treatment.
SESSION 1
When you arrive for the treatment, everything will be discussed again regarding the procedure to ensure you agree & are happy to proceed. You will then be asked to complete a health questionnaire and a written consent form for the procedure.
The first session will then begin where the technician will shave your head [if required], design a hairline, select a pigment shade and start to build a foundation for the treatment where the dots will be spaced more sparsely. This session is also used essentially as a patch test so the technician can see how the pigment will take to your scalp which then allows for any adjustments to be made during session two. We do not want to space the dots too close together during this session to eliminate the possibility of migration or overcrowding of any areas. This technique of building layers throughout the sessions is what builds the natural, non-detectable final results of the treatment. You should expect each treatment time to last for around 2-3 hours.
Before you leave, we will run through the aftercare guidelines as this is very important. You will also receive a copy of this. The aftercare should be followed after every session to ensure you get the best results from the treatment.
Following each session, the pigment will appear darker than the shade it will finally settle to so please do not be alarmed. This is completely normal.
** There will be a minimum of 7 days between sessions**
SESSION 2
At the start of this session, the technician will be able to assess how the treatment has settled on the scalp following the first session. This will then allow for any adjustments to be made such as to the dilution of the pigment to be used.
During this session, we will add most of the density to treatment by strategically placing the dots between what was laid down during the first session. Any adjustments to the hairline can also be made if requested by the client.
Following the second session, you will really see a big change, and this is where the treatment comes to life.
SESSION 3
This for most clients is usually the final session. During the session, we will really perfect the look of the treatment and add the final touches to the density, blending whilst also covering any areas which may have lightened to make it flawless.
